We can’t ignore Big Pharma’s interests in Australia’s transgender industry

Those following the transgender movement will already be aware of the excellent research Jennifer Bilek has done to follow the money back to Big Pharma. Beginning with her 2018 piece in the Federalist, “Who Are the Rich, White Men Institutionalizing Transgender Ideology?”, Bilek’s 11th Hour Blog, has been amassing the evidence to show that the trans movement is nothing like the spontaneous, grass-roots, minority-centred social justice movement that many believe it to be. She explains it is rather a corporate affair, funded significantly by a tiny group of “rich white men” with some grandiose ideas about shaping the future of humanity and significant financial interests in the biomedical and pharmaceutical markets opened up by gender theory.

Increasing numbers of detransitioners call into question the “affirmation only” approach

While the spotlight of media and social media is directed at all the good news stories of happily transitioned children who feel “seen” and “loved for who they really are”, there is a growing number of detransitioners whose stories are only now beginning to be heard. Just a few years ago, these women were too few and too traumatised to speak publicly about their experiences. Now, they are beginning to organise, growing in confidence and finding their voice.

Billboard displaying definition of a woman deemed ‘offensive’

It took just 24 hours for a billboard displaying the dictionary definition of a woman to be taken down from the CBD in Wellington because of the number of complaints the media company received in relation to it. The company claims that the billboard, commissioned by New Zealand advocacy group Speak Up for Women, “could be in breach of the Advertising Standards Authority’s codes”.
