Gender critical women who have always voted for left-wing parties are now finding themselves politically homeless as the parties they traditionally supported are shutting down debate on gender ideology. At the same time, the growing agitation over conflicts between newly-crafted transgender rights and long-established women’s rights is uniting women from across the political spectrum to stand up in unison to defend their common cause.

Language is losing its meaning and women are bearing the brunt of it

Recently, the Commonwealth Department of Health released a new guide for Covid-19 vaccinations, erasing all references to “pregnant women” and instead referring to “people who are pregnant”. The Australian Bureau of Statistics’ new guidelines state that “a person’s sex can change over the course of their lifetime”. And in NSW, it turns out that a male who identifies as female can be named Woman of the Year.

Speaking up for women being silenced

Over the past couple of months, we have been working hard to raise awareness about the injustice done to the Feminist Legal Clinic (FLC), a charity providing legal assistance to disadvantaged women. The clinic had its tenancy grant revoked for posting links to articles about trans issues on its website; views which the City of Sydney Council considered to be discriminatory.

United States laws protecting women’s sport

In a rare example of bi-partisan agreement regarding women in sport, Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii) and Republican Rep. Markwayne Mullin (Oklahoma) introduced the Protect Women’s Sport Act to the US House of Congress last Thursday (10th December). The purpose of the Bill is to ensure Title IX continues to fulfil its original purpose of ensuring equal opportunities for women and girls with regard to all federally-funded education, including sports.

Sporting bodies release guidelines allowing biological men to play in women’s sports

Eight peak Australian sporting bodies have released guidelines for the inclusion of transgender athletes. They are AFL, Hockey Australia, Netball Australia, Rugby Australia, Tennis Australia, Touch Football Australia, UniSport Australia and Water Polo Australia.
